Athiest's Bible

So in case you haven't been reading the news, there is this guy that wrote a new version of the Bible. I was actually amazed that this guy somehow made an Atheist Bible. When I read about it, he made this Bible with some of the "original" elements in it but put in other good ideas from other religions.

In fact, that is one of things that I believe religion just is... a good idea to start with. So this guy did a mix-mash of all these religions, take the "GOD/JESUS" part out and tada, Atheist Bible.

Initially I thought that lots of people would scream blasphemy, and for the record, I am glad we don't have those stupid laws here. If you say something like that in some other country (like Pakistan) you can get executed. So, after some consideration, It makes sense.

Let's all be honest here and come up with honest truths. The fact that most of the religions have lots of similarities is not sheer coincidence. Do you really think Jesus was born in winter exactly on the 25th of December? Probably not. The fact was they chose that date to be his birthday was because of a PAGAN holiday has already been established for thousands of years on the 21st (Winter Solstice which is an indisputable event) and they "borrowed" the season from them. Do you think that it is a coincidence that we have all these religious holidays in December? Hardly not.

So back to this Atheist Bible. I believe that all these religions did borrow some of their content because at the end of the day they all try to help people out and inspire them to be good people. Now the stories are up for interpretation, but supposedly they all preach to be good. This makes some sense to include all the religions into one book and take out the "subjects" and focus on the message. I guess they could have put in a blank space where you write in your god's name. Then they could have called it the Universal Bible.
