Mirage Volcanos

I stayed in the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas.  Here are a couple of pics of the volcano.
This guy erupts every hour on the hour and the last eruption is at midnight.
Here is another cool photo.

Las Vegas 2012

Hey everyone!  I just got back from my 4th of July vacation at Las Vegas!  It took me 3.5 hours to get from Las Vegas to my door!  And this includes a 15 minute stop to get gasoline.  So that said, this time I visited something remarkable!  The world's largest Classic Car Showroom.  And it is on the strip.  And the hotel that it is in is a dump.  As you guessed, the hotel is the Imperial Palace.  It is remarkable that such a dump exists within the same block as world class hotels.  As for the collection it is AMAZING!  Wow, it's like some miracle that this hotel houses all these cars!  Some are for sale and most are not.  Obviously all the good ones are not for sale.

Lots of classic cars here!
Here are a trio of Porsche 911S Turbo.  They all had these strange dark purple rims.
There were only two other ones in the building.

Here is JFK's 1962 Lincoln Continental Limo!

Here is the corner view.

Here is an interior pic that I zoomed in.

Here are some controls in the backseat.  I am guessing the a/c.

Here is the rear corner view.

To the casual observer, this is an ordinary 1999 Chevy Suburban.
You can purchase this auto for a whopping $75k.
After some observations you notice that this is the same auto in the Sopranos.  This is the same exact auto used in filming the opening scene with James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) drives the auto from his house to work.

Here is a Jaguar XJ220.  This car had quite a history and an unfortunate time of birth when the economy tanked.  This car was the fastest in the world for quite some time

Here is the rear quarter look of the Jag.
This car can do 217 MPH (contrary to the 220 inferred in its model number)
Here is an interior shot.  Notice that they keys are in the car!
I did notice that some of the other cars had keys in the ignition!

Here is a 1974 Hong-Qi CA 770.  This is the first Chinese collector car in display in the USA.
President Nixon was driven around in Asia when he was out there on a trip.  I might add that this is the only Chinese car featured in my blog.

Here is Eleanore.
This 1967 Mustang Shelby GT 500 was used in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds.  The car's name is trademarked and actually got credits in the movie.  Whoa.  I think this one was for sale also... for 300k.

Here is a zoomed in interior pic.  Note the car keys!

Here is a Rolls Royce!
I thought this was neat because it has a snake in the front and all these weapons!

1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 1
James Sedanca Coupe.  There are only 2 of these in existance.  The hood ornament lights up!
Yours for a paltray 900k.  Nice!

So there were quite a bit of other cars.  These are a few I thought that were noteworthy.  At $12 this is a great deal!  The worst part is walking through the shitty hotel to check it out.  Just walk all the way back and find the elevators that take you all the way up to the Auto Collection.
