Dimes and Nickles Are Useless in Glendale,Ca

I hate electronic meters. On the top of that heap are the huge electronic meters in Glendale, Ca.  I say that they are huge because in comparison with other cities, these are huge.  My latest gripe was the fact that they only accept quarters and those coin dollars that everyone hates.  Yup.  Those stupid Sackajewea.  I know I misspelled it and I don't give a fuck.  This is my goddam blog. 

Who the fuck uses those stupid dollar coins?  Nobody likes them and there are few places that accept them.  You might as well have a Euro coin.  All I know is that the USPS disposes these dollar coins from the automated meter and from there I take the coins straight home and they stay there.  That and the stupid automated parking attendant to validate your parking.  I hate it when you have no change and you "hit the jackpot" when you put your $10 or worse $20 in the machine.  I digress... 

So I asked the guy maintaining the machine about this conumdrum about the lack of love for silver coins less than a quarter and he responded that first of all the machine is Canadian (cringe) and that the dimes and nickes get stuck in there when it rains.  Whoa!  I never in a million years would have guessed that lame-ass excuse.  Correction, I understand the Canadian explanation aspect but not being able to deal with a bit of moisture?  Canada has more fucked up weather than the USA.  Besides, you would have thought that they would have mastered this engineering feat by now.  Thousands of meters and who the fuck knows how many soda machines collect all silver coins but the clowns in Canada can't (or won't?) do it.  At least the guy that told me this admitted that it sounded silly.

My other gripe is that you NEVER get credit from the last bozo that parked in your parking spot.  That 15 minutes or whatever time credit that the last guy parked before you will never happen in Glendale.  Those Canadians rigged the damn machine so that EVERY damn time you park, you pay.  Even if the last guy left an hour credit, you pay. 

Jeez.  Where is the love?
